Ben Susman Raises More Than $43,000, Outraises Opponent 4-to-1 in Cayuga County Judge Race.
AUBURN, NY — Ben Susman’s campaign for Cayuga County Judge reported raising a total of $43,294 for the July 15 filing period, outraising his opponent by more than 4-to-1, and demonstrating impressive community support across Cayuga County. Susman is running as a Democrat and also successfully petitioned to secure an independent ballot line under the Judicial Integrity Party.
After running a competitive countywide campaign in 2021, Susman enters this race with strong name recognition, an established campaign organization, and a growing grassroots effort focused on reaching voters in communities throughout Cayuga County.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from people across Cayuga County,” Susman said. “It’s been validating to talk with voters who understand why the right experience matters, and why our next County Judge should have the background to match the work of the Court.”
Cayuga County is a “multi-hat” jurisdiction, meaning the County Judge presides over both Family Court and criminal matters. Susman is the only candidate in the race with extensive experience in both, having spent the past decade representing children, parents, and individuals navigating the family and criminal justice systems.
“This race is about making sure Cayuga County has the right person for the job,” Susman said. “We need a judge with the breadth of experience, judgment, and temperament this role demands. The decisions made in our courtrooms can shape the future of our children, protect our community's safety, and profoundly affect people’s lives. That responsibility deserves a judge who understands the full scope of the work from day one.”
About Ben:
Ben Susman is the owner of Susman Law, PLLC and a candidate for Cayuga County Judge. He has spent his legal career representing children, families, and individuals in Civil, Criminal, and Family Court, and is the only candidate in the race with substantial Family Court experience. He is certified by the New York State Office of Attorneys for Children to represent children involved in the judicial system.
Ben is also an active member of the Cayuga County community, serving on the boards of several local nonprofit organizations, including the Auburn Education Foundation, Booker T. Washington Community Center, Nick’s Ride 4 Friends, and The Play Space. He also volunteers as a coach for Auburn’s youth lacrosse program.
Susman is running for Cayuga County Judge on the Democratic Party line, the independent Judicial Integrity Party line and the Working Families Party line.
